My new-found psychic powers! ;)

I like magic. I was never a serious magician, though as a kid I was trying to learn for a while. I was a rather bad magician, and I make no illusions about that!

I always loved performing, and I am fascinated by weird stuff, especially religious and spiritual weird stuff. I love watching astro-tv, a Dutch infomercial-program where one of the three psychic hostesses does two-minute readings when she's not practically begging for someone to call, filling the time with fluff about how wonderful mediums/tarot/astrology etc. are or talking about the private line you can call anytime, as well as the text message service they offer. I do not know if these folks are genuinely psychic, but I have my reasons to doubt it.

Now, for some time I have been (metaphorically) drooling over a certain book, written by Ian Rowland. I finally got it for my birthday and it exceeds my expectations. Among other things it contains information on how to be able to perform as a psychic for entertainment. It's an informative and well-written book, I absolutely love it.

I need volunteers to practice, so if any of you wants me to do a reading, let me know.

Ah, would this happen to be the book you were telling me of? If you don't need the mark to be in your physical presence you can catch me on chat some time to do it on the proviso that you afterwards give me the full title of the book as I'm somewhat interested to read it myself. There are a fair few books out there, but it's always good to have a recommendation as opposed to cold reading. See what I did there? ;-)

I am very sensitive to energies and therefore I don't mind reading for someone who is far away. ;)

I'll be your long-distance read guinea pig!

Yay, do you want a reading over chat or over e-mail?

Whichever's most convenient for you.

We're busy celebrating thinly-veiled excuses for nationalism and genocide with turkey and cranberry sauce today over the Pond, so I don't know when I can log on for an extended period of time.

Maybe you can tell me what I was thinking when I read this post.

”Psychics are frauds"? ;)
Nov. 22nd, 2007 11:16 am (UTC)
That is not exactly what I was thinking.
Though I have serious doubts about the integrity of most psychics, I am not sure that ALL psychics are frauds. In fact, I have the idea that something like telepathy or clairvoyance does exist, even though I cannot explain it. But then, I cannot explain how a TV set works either, and still TV sets do exist.

But anyway, that was not what I was thinking.
I was thinking something along the lines of: "Hmmm, it never occured to me that books existed on stage psychics. But it does make sense. There are also books on stage magic (or goochelen, as we call it in dutch) so why not on stage psychics.

Strange that you didn't know that.

I'll give you one more chance:
What card am I holding in my hand right now?

You aren't. You're typing with two hands.

Damn, how did you know that?

You must be a real psychic!

You can always try the Zenner test to see how psychic you are ;)

Basically predict which card is chosen.
